Based on the Certificate issued by the
Slovak Testing Laboratories Association, our company is entitled
to use a seal of the registered Testing Laboratory!
Within engineering geological exploration, and specially in
the phase of supplementary exploration, there are most of field
tests realized here and focused on the checking and control
of foundation base quality, earthgrade bottom layer, embankments
of constructions and traffic works, checking the quality and
compaction of engineered fills, sealing of waste dumps, checking
the quality and properties of soils after their stabilization.
1. Static and dynamic penetration probes - Dynamic and static
penetration probes enable to assess quickly and non-destructively
the construction sublayer - to ascertain an interface and thickness
of the individual layers, to determine some strength and deformation
characteristics, to ascertain a depth of bearing bottom layer,
caverns and etc.
Instrumentation:
Static penetration test equipment GEOTOOL (Germany)
Dynamic penetration test equipment BORROS (Sweden)
2. Static and dynamic loading plate
tests - Loading plate
tests enable to determine, in a non-destructive way, the strength
of foundation soil, deformation modulus and modulus of rock
elasticity, modulus of subgrade reaction, or to determine the
density of soil ratio and compaction ratio of subgrade and
materials of embankments, and stabilized soils.
Instrumentation:
Static load test equipment Strassentest (Germany)
Static load test equipment ECM Static (Czech Republic)
Dynamic load test equipment HMP LFG - SD (Germany)
3. Determination of bulk density - For determination of compaction
parameters, direct and indirect testing methods are used here.
Direct methods include a determination of bulk density by sample
drawing into the carving ring by means of the water membrane
volume meter, by using the pit method and consequent determination
of moisture content and calculation of D parameters (comparison
with results of the laboratory Proctor - standard compaction
test).
Instrumentation:
water membrane volume meter (England)
equipment for pit methods
sampler for intact samples (EIJKELKAMP Netherlands)
4. CBR test (California bearing ratio) - A value of California
bearing ration served originally as a characteristics of material
for materials used in road construction for the structural
design. At the present time this test serves also for assessment
of a bearing capacity of bottom layer of road communications.
The CBR value (expressed in %) is a number representing a ratio
of soil resistance against penetration of a steel punch to
the resistance against penetration of this punch into the standard
material (macadam) under the same conditions. Based on the
correlation relations it is possible to derive also the modulus
of elasticity from this test.
Instrumentation:
CBR equipment (ELE England)
5. Inclinometer measurement -
inclinometer measurement is performed using the inclinometer
device. This device consists
of inlinometric casings having a pair of vertical guide
grooves inclinometric probe, control cable and the recording
unit.
inclinometric casing is installed in a vertical borehole
that passes through the zone forecast movement. Bottom Casing
is anchored in stable soil and casing in the borehole are cement-bentonite
stabilized vinaigrette.
inclinometric probe is used to measure the Casing and establish
their initial positions. The movement of soil causes a shift
from their casings initial position.
Size, depth and degree of this shift is calculated by comparing
the data in the initial position of the data found in other
measurements.

Inclinometer Probe device Digitilt USA
